Our Story
LandEasy was born out of a simple frustration. Landing in Canada is exciting. It is also genuinely hard. And almost nobody tells you what it actually looks like.
When we arrived in Toronto, we did what most Nigerians do. We asked around. WhatsApp groups. Facebook. Friends of friends. Sometimes the advice was helpful. A lot of the time it was outdated, wrong, or just someone's strong opinion dressed up as fact.
Nobody had been through the exact thing we were going through. Or if they had, the information was scattered across a dozen different conversations, and you had to piece it together yourself while also dealing with everything else that comes with starting over in a new country.
There was no single place that felt like it actually understood us.
Not our specific challenges as Nigerians. Not the FX confusion, the credit score climb from zero, the housing hunt without references, the driving licence process, or the quiet exhaustion of figuring out a new system while pretending to everyone back home that everything is perfectly fine.
So we built it.
LandEasy is a resource platform for immigrants making the move to Canada. Every guide on this site comes from real experience, not just research. We have been through the housing search, the bank account conversations, the FX comparisons, and the road test nerves. We write about all of it honestly.
We started with Nigerians because that is our lived experience and we believe in writing about what you actually know. But this was never meant to stop there. If you are African, Caribbean, or from anywhere else and you are making the move to Canada, you will find something here for you too.
LandEasy is built by Ayomikun Olorunda, a Nigerian immigrant based in Toronto. Ayomikun brings over nine years of experience across data analytics, payment operations, and financial services, having worked with some of West Africa's most respected institutions before making the move to Canada.
That background means every guide on this platform is written with a level of financial and operational rigour that most immigrant resources simply do not have. When we talk about FX rates, credit systems, or banking, it is not surface-level advice pulled from a quick Google search. It comes from someone who has spent years working inside these systems.
Not a corporation. Not a startup with investors. Just someone who arrived, figured things out the hard way, and decided the next person should not have to.
This is personal. And that is exactly why it works.
If you run a Nigerian or African business in Canada, know a community that needs this, or simply want to share it with someone about to land, we would love to hear from you. The more people who find LandEasy, the more useful it becomes for everyone.
Know someone about to land in Canada? Send them this. It might be exactly what they need.
